This past Sunday, the 24th, we had the pleasure of being part of “The Wedding Party” at The Meadow Wood Manor in Randolph, NJ.  This event was planned to be an evening of posh style and glamour! Not your normal run of the mill bridal show! “The Wedding Party” was coordinated and designed by none other than the amazing Jenny Orsini from “Whose Wedding is it Anyway” and owner of Pampered Bride Weddings! The unbelievable floral decor and table designs were provided by Lisa from A Touch of Elegance florist.

This event was also sponsored by New Jersey Bride and NJwedding.com.  20% of the night’s proceeds was donated to Autism Speaks, a wonderful organization that provides awareness for Autism.

It was such an honor to be invited by Jenny Orsini to be part of such a wonderful event.  Not only to showcase our cookies and cupcakes, but also to meet some fantastic brides and raise money for a wonderful cause!

I am excited to announce that Sensibly Sweet has been chosen to receive the Bride’s Choice Awards 2010.

This award recognizes the top 5 percent of local wedding professionals from the WeddingWire Network who demonstrate excellence in quality, service and professionalism.

The Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds (brides and grooms) through extensive surveys and reviews, which means my past clients have spoken on my behalf and selected me to receive this honor! =)

I just want to thank the brides and grooms who did speak on my behalf and selected me to received such a high honor! Thank you! What a wonderful way to kick off the New Year!

What a week this has been! I just had to take a moment to talk about “The Pink Veil Event” that we participated in yesterday. It was a fabulous event beautifully put together by Exquisite Bride in Millburn, NJ. We got to meet some fantastic brides,  see some familiar faces, and got to know some remarkable vendors.

We met Dave from The Studio Photographers who photographed our wedding favors the night before in Mallard Island! It was a pleasure to meet him and his wife who were taking photos of the event.

I would like to thank Dianne from Colorblind Productions for letting me use some of her photos from yesterday’s event!

For the second year in a row, Pink Comb Salon (owned and operated by wedding hair stylist Michelle LoConte) is holding their annual “Combs For A Cure.” The event will be Sunday, October 11th from 12pm-4pm at the salon in Nutley, New Jersey. Pink Comb is working together with the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation, Brides Against Breast Cancer and the Pink Envelope Project which all work together to fulfill dreams for metastatic breast cancer patients. We need your help!

They will be “raffling off” donations made by EVERYONE. They hope to get some press as well! Each donation will have a bowl next to it where attendants can “purchase” a ticket and try to “win” a price. All of the monies will go directly to the organization. Last year, they raised $1,287.00! Donations can be a gift certificate, a product, handmade jewelry, wedding related service, an arrangement of sorts, etc. etc. etc. any donation is graciously accepted! You do not need to be at the event in order to make the donation. They will take care of everything. They only ask that donations are made by October 4, 2009. Donations can be dropped off at the Salon in Nutley, NJ or they will be happy to come and pick them up!

WOW! I can’t believe tomorrow is the last day of June! This year has flown….especially the month of June! I can’t get over it! Well…these past few weeks have been jam packed with a lot of different events.  We got to work with the fabulous Jenny Orsini of PBW again! But this time it was a very special request for her dad for Father’s Day.  Her dad works with a Bichon Frise rescue organization, so of course we had to make cookies after his favorite puppies!

Also last Thursday we had another graduation, this time a double for Lisa and Arthur! Congrats to you both!

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone! =)

Back in March we were approached by the Hebrew Academy of Morris County to participate in their annual Fashion Show. We were delighted to provide them with “Casablanca” themed centerpieces, since this year’s Fashion Show was based around “Casablanca.” We decided to incorporate cookies with some famous quotes from the movie into the centerpieces. The fashion show took place last Thursday night! Here are a couple of pics of what we did! (Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a good shot of the balloon arch)

“A Kiss is but a kiss”

“We’ll always have Paris”

“Here’s looking at you kid”

That’s all for now! Have a great day everyone!

This past weekend we were asked by a client to do a cake, cupcake, cookie package for her daughter Sophia’s Christening. The cake is a vanilla cake with whip cream filling, layered with white fondant and pink and white blossoms. Congrats to Sophia of Succusanna, New Jersey! Here’s a peek of what we at Sensibly Sweet did!

Have a great weekend!!!

Ok, so I’m actaully going to write about an event we did back in November, since we just started this blog and the event we did was very exciting!  Randy Polo, Director of Catering at the Park Avenue Club, whom my mom knows for years, asked us to participate in the celebration gala in honor of Philip Darrow on November 22, 2008.  We were honored and touched that he thought of us! We gladly made cookie favors in shape of the red bow ties he always wore that became his trade mark.  Philip Darrow was the Executive Director of the Park Avenue Club since 1998 until his passing on December 3, 2007.  He left a legacy to all whose life he touched.  Philip’s strength of character, true passion for living and humanity always defined his work.  It has been an honor for us at Sensibly Sweet to be connected with the staff of The Park Avenue Club.

We had a wonderful time at The Villa in Moutain Lakes last night,  following a personal invitation by John Fucci, the manager of  The Villa, thank you John!  It was wonderful meeting the owner, Robert Frungillo (who also owns The Castle at Skylands Manor), as well as meeting Linda Pergola from The Castle, Traci Zimmerman from the Marriott and bumping into our old friend, Randy Polo from the Park Avenue Club.  We had so much fun socializing with these incredible people and eating amazing food!  The place looks incredible since it was renovated five years ago by Robert Frungillo.  Those of you looking for a FABULOUS  banquet hall, check this place out, it’s out of this world!!!
